Six-Degree-of-Freedom Motion Platform

A six-degree-of-freedom motion platform consists of six servo motors, six electric cylinders, upper and lower universal joints, and upper and lower platforms. The lower platform is fixed to the foundation. Coordinated extension and retraction of the six cylinders moves the upper platform through six spatial degrees of freedom, reproducing a wide range of motion attitudes.

The system integrates advanced technologies in mechanics, electric-cylinder transmission, electrical engineering, control, computing, sensing, spatial-motion mathematics and real-time signal processing. It is therefore a representative benchmark for electric-cylinder transmission and motion-control capability.

The complete solution includes the spatial motion mechanism, motion model, electric-cylinder system and control system. It can be used in flight, marine-vessel, tank, automobile, train and earthquake simulators, as well as spacecraft docking, aerial-refueling docking, motion cinema and entertainment equipment.
